Tarlan works closely with Indigenous communities to provide senior strategic and practical legal
advice to advance the client’s objectives. She aims to serve her clients through a commitment to
listening and advocating for Indigenous peoples’ voices to heard in the Canadian legal system.
Tarlan’s experience includes litigation and negotiations with respect to Crown consultation and
accommodation, treaty and aboriginal rights, environmental assessments and natural resource
development. She has significant experience advising on oil sands developments and often appears
before energy regulators.
Tarlan articled and practiced in Edmonton before relocating to Vancouver in 2016. Prior to joining
Mandell Pinder LLP, she practiced aboriginal law at a Vancouver based full-service law firm.
