Matt Austman

Matt is from Manitoba, Treaty 1 territory. Prior to earning his law degree and becoming an articling student with Mandell Pinder in 2023, Matt earned degrees in political science and worked for a variety of not-for-profit and political organizations as an organizer and communications professional.

His master’s research focused on the impacts of R v Gladue and sentencing reform on incarceration rates and Indigenous peoples in Canada. He now applies his advocacy experience and legal training to his work with the firm.
