Advising First Nations on Financial Transactions

We advise clients on borrower-side financial transactions, and work with Indigenous governments and their businesses to develop financial policies and procedures.

Our work includes:

Negotiating

Negotiating loan agreements, mortgages, guarantees, security agreements, promissory notes, and other instruments in connection with commercial transactions.

Advising

Advising on implications of security to borrowers.

Drafting

Drafting financial management laws, including laws under the First Nations Land Management Act, the Indian Act, and the First Nations Fiscal Management Act.
