Mandell Pinder Lawyers at PBLI’s “On Our Terms” Conference

On September 23 and 24, 2026, Mandell Pinder LLP lawyer Virginia Mathers co-chairs Pacific Business & Law Institute’s (“PBLI”) conference titled “On Our Terms” – Consent Agreements with Indigenous Nations. Presenters include representatives from the Tahltan and ‘Namgis Nations and Mandell Pinder lawyer Stephen Mussell.

With Indigenous Nations reaching new agreements in relation to their Territories and resources that include true consent requirements, the conference will explore the new opportunities for Indigenous Nations, Crown governments, and industry offered by these agreements. Speakers will address consent requirements under UNDRIP and DRIPA, recent consent agreements between the Indigenous Nations and the Province of British Columbia, and what is required for informing consent decisions.

PBLI’s “On Our Terms” is for Indigenous leaders and staff, representatives of resource development companies, Treaty and consultation/accommodation negotiators, lawyers practicing in areas of Indigenous law, Aboriginal law, administrative law, business law, and resource development, government officials, and consultants.
