On June 9, 2023, Mandell Pinder LLP lawyer Kelsey McDermott will speak on a panel titled “Exercising Effective Communication Skills and Managing Client Relations in Negotiations” as part of the Canadian Bar Association’s Skilled Lawyers Series. The event will take place via webinar from 12:00pm – 2:00pm EST.
The panel will address key aspects of communicating in negotiations including: understanding the psychology of negotiations to refine your arguments and responses; important essentials and insights on cross-cultural negotiation; improving your listening and questioning skills, both with your client and with the other side; preparing your client for negotiations and managing their emotions and expectations effectively; and making sure your client is making an informed choice before accepting or declining a settlement.
