University of BC Recognizes Mandell Pinder Lawyer Stephen Mussell

The 2023-2024 UBC Alumni Builder Awards recognize Mandell Pinder lawyer Stephen Mussell for his contributions to the legal and academic community. Stephen graduated from the Peter A. Allard School of Law in 2015. He speaks regularly at Indigenous Legal Studies (ILS) and Indigenous Law Students’ Association (ILSA) events and diligently raises awareness about the legal rights of Indigenous peoples. He has served as an Allard Lawyer Wellbeing mentor and co-coached the UBC Kawaskimhon Moot team for many years.

UBC created the Alumni Builder Awards in 2017 to “recognize a cross-section of UBC alumni who have significantly contributed to the university and enriched the lives of others, and in doing so, have supported UBC’s vision of a global alumni community for an exceptional UBC and a better world.”

On February 5, 2024, Stephen will be the keynote speaker at Indigenous Awareness Week taking place at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. ILSA and ILS will present Stephen with his Alumni Builder Award at this event. There will be a formal reception for all recipients on April 24.

Mandell Pinder is proud of Stephen’s contributions to the legal and academic communities.
