Erica Stahl joined Mandell Pinder LLP in 2019. Erica’s practice focuses on specific claims, addressing longstanding disputes regarding reserve creation and allocation. She brings broad experience in legal aid and environmental law to her work with Indigenous communities.
Erica has worked on Charter challenges, judicial reviews, submissions to environmental regulatory bodies, and law reform proposals in Ontario and British Columbia. She enjoys working closely with communities to identify options and achieve their goals, including upholding Indigenous laws, pursuing the recognition and respect of Aboriginal rights and title, and self-governance. Erica is passionate about public legal education and enjoys teaching.
Born and raised on the west coast, Erica prefers rain over snow unless she can ski on it. Besides skiing, Erica enjoys dance, camping, reading, and travel. She once paddled 1400 km down the Fraser River from its headwaters in the Rocky Mountains to the Pacific Ocean.
