The lawyers and staff at Mandell Pinder LLP are profoundly saddened by the discovery of the remains of 215 children at the former Kamloops residential school. Our hearts go out to all of the families and communities whose loved ones attended the school, and all Indigenous peoples across the country. We fully support the calls to appoint a special rapporteur to apply United Nations international standards to ensure the necessary investigations and repatriation work are carried out in accordance with cultural protocols and at the direction of the Indigenous communities affected.
