Michael Bissonnette joined Mandell Pinder LLP as an articled student in 2011 and has stayed on as an associate with a litigation-based practice concentrating on specific claims work.

Michael grew up in Ottawa before attending McGill University in Montreal where he completed a Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy.  Seeking to pursue his passion for social justice, Michael went on to study law at the University of Victoria, enrolling in the co-op program as part of his Juris Doctor.  Michael completed co-op placements at the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, at the Canada Border Services Agency, and at the environmental non-profit legal firm Ecojustice.  He also spent time working at a Victoria poverty law clinic representing clients in areas of civil litigation, employment law, criminal defence and human rights.

Michael has assisted in matters at all levels of court in British Columbia as well as before various administrative tribunals and the Commission of Inquiry into the Decline of Sockeye Salmon in the Fraser River.

When not practising law, Michael can be found playing pickup basketball, or in the mountains hiking and snowboarding.
