On September 8-11, 2024, Mandell Pinder LLP lawyers Crystal Reeves and Dawn Johnson will participate in the inaugural “Loving Justice: Breathing Life into Our Own Laws” national conference on Indigenous jurisdiction over children and families.
The conference will take place at the Vancouver Convention Centre East on the unceded and ancestral territories of the sḵwx̱wú7mesh, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm and səlilwətaɬ Nations. It is open to anyone interested in “child and family jurisdiction, First Nations, Métis and Inuit leadership, Indigenous child and family service agencies, legal and financial representatives.”
Loving Justice is hosted by the Indigenous Child and Family Services Directors Our Children Our Way Society, which has represented 24 Indigenous Child and Family Service Agencies in British Columbia for several decades.
