Megan is a recent graduate from McGill University’s Faculty of Law, where she completed the joint Bachelor of Civil Law and Juris Doctor (BCL/JD) program.
Prior to law school, Megan completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Toronto, where she double majored in Ethics, Society and Law, as well as Peace, Conflict and Justice, with a minor in Environmental Studies. She also obtained a Certificate in Sustainability.
During her final semester at McGill, Megan had the opportunity to co-design and co-teach a seminar at the Faculty of Law entitled “Legal Issues in a Just Green Energy Transition.” Taught at a pivotal moment of transition in the Canadian energy sector, the seminar asked students to consider how a shift towards green energy could be used to advance Indigenous sovereignty and self-determination, as well as the risks of reproducing longstanding processes of dispossession. Megan taught several classes on various topics, including the duty to consult and accommodate and the unequal distribution of benefits and burdens associated with Canadian critical infrastructure. The course also highlighted Indigenous energy sovereignty, a topic Megan cares deeply about.
While completing her BCL/JD, Megan spent two summers working at Tsawwassen First Nation (TFN), where she developed and delivered youth programming focused on environmental stewardship. Her work at TFN also provided an opportunity to engage youth to support their further learning about section 35 Aboriginal and treaty rights. Megan maintains an interest in working to uphold Constitutional, Charter, and human rights and has a strong commitment to supporting Indigenous self-determination, jurisdiction and governance.
Megan joined Mandell Pinder LLP as an articling student in 2026.
