Mandell Pinder LLP is seeking a dynamic solicitor with relevant experience and commitment to supporting First Nations, to join our collegial and collaborative group of lawyers and legal professionals in our Vancouver office.
This position is best suited for a 4+ year call.
Duties and Responsibilities
We enjoy a varied solicitor practice, including:
- drafting custom agreements;
- supporting First Nations and Nation-led not for profit organizations with customized governance documents including laws, bylaws, and policies;
- creating and maintaining corporate structures including limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships, societies and not-for-profit corporations;
- providing general counsel advice to long-standing clients;
- drafting, amending and implementing trusts;
- acting for landlords and tenants in commercial leasing, on-reserve and off-reserve;
- on-reserve land development including supporting addition to reserve applications;
- acting for borrowers in financing transactions; and
- supporting the broader legal team with issues as they arise in negotiations and settlements.

Qualifications
- Mature outlook, 4+ year call in good standing with the Law Society of BC
- Experience advising clients on corporate, commercial, governance, real estate, financing, or trust matters
- Strong drafting, analytical, problem-solving, and advisory skills
- Comfortable managing files with a high degree of independence
- Communicate clearly with diverse audiences, including elected leadership, administrators and community members
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, humility, and a commitment to continuous learning
- Bring sound judgment, professionalism and cultural awareness to their practice
- Ability to travel and foster relationships with clients in their communities
- Uphold high professional and ethical standards
Salary range $125,000 – $180,000 (target hours 1,350/year), dependent on year of call.
