Gord is an in-house historian at Mandell Pinder. He joined the firm in 2021 and primarily supports the Specific Claims team with research, historical analysis, drafting reports and claims. He also lends his research and analysis skills to supporting the rest of Mandell Pinder’s legal team and clients when needed, particularly in Indigenous governance work around membership. While he is typically comfortable tucked away behind his desk or at the archives, he most enjoys visiting client communities to learn from Elders and Knowledge Holders.
When not doing historical work for the firm, Gord loves cheering for his favourite sports teams, dancing at live shows and festivals, particularly ska and reggae events, family puzzle or movie nights (loses too much to enjoy board games), and of course walking the doggo. In moments of free time, Gord takes a break from paid historical work and indulges in personal research projects like family and local history. It’s hard to get a historian to stop doing history stuff, even on a weekend!
