Saturday, February 14th marks the 35th Annual Women’s Memorial March in Vancouver.
For decades, Indigenous women have led the Annual Women’s Memorial March, taking to the streets to honour, remember, and mourn the lives of the missing and murdered women, girls, and gender-diverse people in the Downtown Eastside. Indigenous women, girls, Two-Spirit, and gender-diverse people continue to disproportionately be targets of gender-based violence.
Mandell Pinder stands in solidarity with the community and the families in remembering the women, girls, Two-Spirit, and gender-diverse people who have been lost to violence and those who are still missing, and in calling for justice, dignity, and safety for all.
Family and community will gather at 10am at Main & Hastings, with the public march beginning at 12pm from Carnegie (Main & Hastings). Learn more about the event and its history on the event’s website and on Facebook.
