Specific Claims
Specific claims are historical grievances against the federal government made under Canada's Specific Claims Policy. Under the new legislation, specific claims will be pursued before the Specific Claims Tribunal. Our work includes:
- reviewing, assembling and assessment of claims
- development and presentation of strategies
- document research, analysis and development
- drafting and completing claims for submission to Specific
Claims Branch
- presentation of the claim to the community
- assisting in the negotiations of settlements
- implementation of trust structures for settlements
- appeals to the Indian Claims Commission
