Land and Natural Resources
Mandell Pinder LLP assists First Nations in the negotiation of agreements for third-party use of their lands and resources. Our work includes:
- developing and negotiating agreements for access to use of
natural resources within First Nations' Territories, including
fisheries, forestry and water
- negotiation of impact-benefit agreements with government and
industry for highways, railway rights of way, independent power projects,
fisheries, mining and forestry projects
- development and negotiation of servicing agreements with
neighbouring municipalities for water, sewer, fire protection and other local
services
- advising and negotiating additions to reserve lands
- development of co-management agreements between First
Nations and governments for parklands and other natural resources
